FAQ

  • This is one of the most difficult and deeply personal questions we are asked—and there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Every pet and every journey is unique. As their caregiver, you know your pet best, and you may begin to notice subtle or significant changes that indicate their quality of life is declining.

Some signs that it may be time include:

    • Loss of interest in food or water

    • Incontinence, or difficulty eliminating without falling

    • Poor grooming habits (especially in cats, but some dogs as well)

    • Withdrawing from the family or hiding in unusual places

    • Trouble standing or walking without assistance

    • Noticeable changes in behavior, such as confusion, aggression, or depression

    • Experiencing more bad days than good

If you're unsure,  are always here to help talk through your observations and guide you with compassion and honesty. You're not alone in this.

  • You know your pet better than anyone—but navigating end-of-life decisions can be incredibly overwhelming. Speaking with someone who understands both the emotional and medical aspects of this process can bring comfort and clarity.

We offer a complimentary phone consultation to help you evaluate your pet’s quality of life and explore the options available, including hospice care or euthanasia. This service is designed to support you with compassionate, knowledgeable guidance—so you don’t have to face this difficult decision alone.

  • Yes, you are absolutely welcome to stay with your pet for the entire procedure—if that feels right for you. Some people choose to be present throughout, while others prefer to stay only during the initial sedation. This is a deeply personal decision, and we fully support whatever brings you and your pet the most peace and comfort.

  • We work exclusively with Legacy Pet Crematory, a licensed and trusted facility that treats every pet with the utmost care and respect. Together, we follow strict identification and tracking procedures to ensure that the ashes you receive are your pet’s, and only your pet’s.

If you have questions or concerns about cremation standards, we encourage you to speak with your veterinarian for additional peace of mind or to learn more about the private cremation process.
